Building Strength for Multi-day Hikes
Description
The Month of Hiking is back for Spring in Esperance! Down to Earth are hosting a series of short talks to get you excited (and maybe ready) for longer hikes and multi-day adventures.
Preparing your body for multi-day hiking goes beyond simply 'walking more'. This session will cover how to build the strength, endurance and resilience needed to tackle longer and more demanding trails. We’ll explore injury prevention, the importance of cross-training, and how strength training can improve hiking performance and reduce fatigue. I’ll cover key areas to target, including the legs, hips and core, how to progressively build strength, and practical ways to incorporate strength training into your routine. You’ll leave with simple strategies to help you feel stronger, more confident and better prepared for your next multi-day adventure.
