What is Homelessness Week?
Homelessness Week is an annual national campaign where homelessness services and community groups come together to raise awareness of the causes and impacts of homelessness, highlight solutions, and advocate for change. Activities range from community events to media and social media campaigns—building momentum to end homelessness.
About the Event
As part of Homelessness Week 2025, Homelessness NSW will host a special event focused on deepening understanding of Housing First approaches across the sector.
We’ll explore the following key themes:
How informal alliances and local systems can support Housing First responses in regional areas
Delivering Housing First in practice with Aboriginal people and communities
What to Expect
This is an event not to be missed. You’ll hear directly from Tina Ugle and Leonie Pickett of Noongar Mia Mia, who will share insights into their groundbreaking work culturally adapting Housing First principles with the Noongar community in Western Australia.
We’re also pleased to welcome a range of sector leaders and expert voices, including:
Lynda Townsend and Emily Phillips, Sora Community Services – experienced Housing First trainers working in Tamworth
