Building Strong Foundations: Developing Natural, Efficient Swimming Strokes from the Very First Lesson
Description
Every child begins their aquatic journey differently, and great stroke development doesn't start with perfect technique - it starts with creating the right foundations.
In this webinar, we'll explore how the skills taught in the earliest learn-to-swim lessons influence stroke development for years to come. Rather than forcing children into a one-size-fits-all model, we'll discuss how to build movement patterns that allow each swimmer to develop efficient, confident strokes that work naturally with their body.
Together we'll cover:
The essential foundation skills that underpin every competitive and survival stroke.
Why body position, balance, rotation, breathing, propulsion and rhythm matter more than copying textbook technique.
How children's physical development influences the way they move through the water.
Recognising natural movement patterns and knowing when to guide rather than correct.
Practical teaching strategies that create confident swimmers with technically strong, sustainable strokes.
