Burlesque Robe Workshop with Viola Verve

Unleash your inner seductress and master the art of tease with the iconic burlesque costume piece - the robe. 

In this workshop, you will learn to amplify your striptease with flair and finesse, learning how to use and master this garment as part of your burlesque repertoire.  

Led by Viola, a seasoned professional burlesque performer, producer, and teacher with over a decade of experience, you'll be guided through a fun and sensual routine that will leave you feeling empowered and confident.

What to Expect:

- Warm-up and cool-down exercises

- Robe manipulation techniques, learn how to striptease with a robe.

- Fun and sensual choreography

- Information on different types of robes used in burlesque, including a showing of my burlesque robes that have been collected over the past 10 years

- Recommendations on where to get different types of robes with my resource list and recommendations on who to contact if commissioning a unique robe to be made for you individually.

Attire:

Come dressed in comfortable clothing and bring a bottle of water to stay hydrated. Please bring your own robe to work with in class. If you do not have a robe, please reach out to Viola at violaverve@gmail.com with any questions or assistance sourcing one for the workshop.

Accessibility:

This workshop is inclusive of all genders, all ages over the age of 18, identities, and backgrounds. Please note that the class incorporates movements popular in classic burlesque, so participants should have a range of motion in their hips and be able to bend their knees with ease. The dance studio is located on the ground floor with no stairs, ensuring easy access for all.

About Viola:

Viola is an award-winning burlesque dancer & vintage pinup, and a regular in the Adelaide Burlesque scene. She has both taken part in & produced sell out shows over the last nine years in Adelaide Fringe, Cabaret Fringe, Stirling Fringe & Fringe World Perth. Viola has also been apart of the Australian Burlesque festival and Melbourne Fringe, and has captivated audiences with her performances across Australia as a regular touring performer.
