Burlyflexx - 8 Week Fan Dance Classic Burlesque Course @ One Playground Surry Hills

Welcome to the dazzling world of Burlesque with 'Burlyflexx'! Led by the mesmerising performer, Lou P Scarlett, this electrifying 8-week program is designed to ignite your confidence and celebrate your unique sensuality. Whether you are a seasoned performer or this is your first time delving into the world of burlesque this course is designed to teach you both the fundamentals and extend your performing prowess.

Classic Burlesque incorporates the traditional elements of 20th Century burlesque dancing, music and vintage glamour. This course will teach you the core moves of burlesque; the bump grind, shimmy, shake and strut as well as the iconic burlesque art of fan dancing. You’ll learn the power of stage presence, character development and costume creation and incorporate all you learn in a slow and sensual strip-tease inspired by the burlesque legends and methods of the past. This group routine will be performed in your final week at One Playground for Lou P and fellow students and, if you choose to do so, you will have the opportunity to also perform on stage at The Vanguard, at the end of the 8-week programme for the public.

Pasties, gloves and 1x costume piece (for you to keep)

Feather Fans provided for rehearsals and performance

What You Need To Provide:

Undergarments (bra, underwear, stockings) + heels

Commences: Sunday 4th October, 2.30pm-3.45pm (Running for 7x consecutive weeks!)

One Playground Performance Day @ Surry Hills - Sunday 22nd November, 2.30pm - 3.30pm

External Performance @ The Vanguard Newtown - Wednesday 25th November (optional)
