Burnout to Balance: An Ayurvedic Approach - Online Workshop
Description
As the year draws to a close, the busyness, responsibilities and demands of everyday life can leave us feeling physically and emotionally depleted. We may find ourselves tired but unable to slow down, mentally scattered, overwhelmed, irritable or simply running on empty.
In this session, we’ll explore burnout through an Ayurvedic perspective, looking at the deep connection between the mind, body, nervous system, digestion, emotions and daily rhythms. Ayurveda recognises that burnout is more than simply feeling exhausted. When we continually push beyond our capacity, the mind can become overstimulated and the nervous system destabilised.
Over time, this can manifest as Vata aggravations such as depletion and affect our sleep, digestion, energy, focus and sense of stability. The intensity and pressure of busy periods can also increase Pitta, particularly when we are constantly striving, doing, achieving or have unrealistic expectations. This may show up as irritability, frustration, impatience and seeking perfection. As we move towards summer, the qualities of heat and intensity become even more relevant.
Ayurveda encourages us to recognise these changing influences and adapt our lifestyle, food, routines and self-care to support greater balance. We’ll explore:
Burnout and depletion through the Ayurvedic lens
The connection between mind, body and nervous system health
The relationship between the doshas, stress, emotions, digestion, sleep and energy
How the transition into summer can influence our physical and mental wellbeing
Simple practices to ground Vata, cool Pitta and calm the mind
Nourishing routines, food, breathing and self-care practices to support resilience
How to recognise when we are moving beyond our own capacity and need to pause
This is a practical session for anyone who feels they have been doing too much for too long, or who would like to better understand their own patterns of stress and depletion.
Take some time out from the busyness of the year to pause, reconnect with your true purpose and explore how caring for the mind and body together can help you restore your energy, create greater balance and move through to into the new year with more ease.
