Are you 55 years old or over and want to build confidence on public transport?
City of Ballarat, in partnership with CDC Victoria, invites older adults from the Chinese Australian Community to participate in the:
BusAble Program:Â
'an education and information program to help you travel safely, comfortably and confidently on Ballarat's Public Bus Network'.
The course will include opportunities on how to:
- Travel safely on and off a bus
- Plan your journey to appointments
- Use and/or top-up your Myki card
- Travel across the network
- Use travel tools and apps
COST: Free
GETTING THERE:
CDC will operate a free bus service to transport registered course participants to the course at the following times:
Morning Pick-up:
9.15am: Depart Ballarat Railway Station: Lydiard Street sideÂ
9.40am: Depart Lake Wendouree: Pipers By the Lake
Afternoon Drop-off:
1.15pm: Arrive Lake Wendouree: Pipers By the Lake
1.30pm: Arrive Ballarat Railway Station: Lydiard Street side
REFRESHMENTS:
- CDC will provide registered course participants with a free lunch
- Tea and coffee facilities available
ACCESSIBILITY:
- Low floor and fully accessible bus. Walkers and mobility aids welcome.
- All abilities access at the Community Hub
TRANSLATION SERVICES:
- Presentation slides will be in English and Mandarin.
- All participants will be provided with a Myki information booklet in Mandarin.
