Bush Bound Ladies Lunch

Empowering women for proactive health and connection

With Guest Speaker: Dr Rebecca McGowan - a highly experienced Medical Practitioner for over three decades and is an acknowledged Preventative Health Expert.

Rebecca grew up on the family farm in Indigo Valley, Northeast Victoria and wanted to be a country Dr from a young age. She gained her Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery at Monash University, Melbourne, followed by Specialist training as a General Practitioner, with Post Graduate qualifications in Obstetrics, Gynaecology, and Forensic Medicine.  A former GP, she now works as the Medical Director of LifeVest, a business she co-founded in 2015.  LifeVest provides proactive health promotion programs in the workplace, online and in the community and collaborates with some of Australia’s biggest companies.  Rebecca lives on her farm, where she produces angus beef cattle with her husband (and sometimes grown-up kids) and is a long-time member of her local Indigo Creek Landcare group.  She loves spending time in her extensive garden, growing, cooking, and sharing good food with friends and family.  Rebecca is passionate about empowering and enabling people to take better control of their health, by providing practical information to assist people to live longer healthier lives

Join us 4th May 2025 from 11:00am to 2:00pm at the Burrumbuttock Hall for a lovely lunch with friends and learn about women's health with guest speaker Dr Rebecca McGowan – topics will  include: women aged 40-60 - the danger zone and how to prevent illness, hidden bias against women in medicine and how to be aware of it and how to combat it. 

We will also have a donations box for the 150th Burrum Celebrations. 

This is a free event, but registration is essential!
