Sat, 6 Dec, 9am - 12:30pm AEDT

Event description

Landholders in the Tweed are invited to this free, half-day workshop to learn about bushland restoration.

What to expect

The workshop will cover:

  • what is a weed and why we do bush regeneration

  • basic principles including disturbance and resilience, site assessment and weed control techniques

  • short tour of a bushland site

The workshop will also cover the importance of being able to tell the difference between native plants and weeds, especially at the seedling stage. This is because many common weeds have native plant look-alikes.

Who should attend

The workshop is ideal for rural landholders who want to take the first steps towards controlling weeds in their patch of bush.

About the facilitator

The workshop will be facilitated by Rusty Linnane, a bush regenerator, naturalist and author with over 25 years field experience.

Important information

Registration is essential. Limited spots available. Morning tea will be provided. Please bring sun-safe outdoor attire including sturdy footwear, water and insect repellent.

Attendees are encouraged to bring along weed samples for identification.
