Bush Somatics Series 2 2026
Description
3 Sundays: 30th August, 20th September and 11th October.
Join for the whole series or single sessions.
The bush is in full flower, with kapoks, turkey bush, wattles and grevilleas smelling wonderful, looking joyous as they celebrate their season.
As we begin to breathe out after the heady dry, come and re-connect.
These seasonal workshops provide a morning to rest deeply into the mind of your body;
In this series we explore the beautiful and amazing neuro-endocrine system.
Somatic Movement education workshops offer supported explorations of our embodied anatomy through visualisation, sound and movement. We also allow time for resting, journalling and reflection in the bush. Morning tea provided.
Depending on group interests, across the three workshops areas we may explore include:
· Feeling and sensing Sensory and motor branches of the somatic nervous system and finding balance between sensing and doing, input and output.
· Feeling and sensing Sympathetic and parasympathetic pathways of the autonomic nervous system and finding balance between comfort and curiosity.
· Becoming mindful and harnessing the deeply supportive presence of fatty tissues (myelin) and fluids (including Cerebro spinal fluid) as core nervous system supports
· Sensing and feeling the role of the heart and gut brains and the Vagus nerve in moving us towards safety and fulfilling our desires.
· Integration of nervous system pathways at the level of the brilliant brain, and spinal column of the central nervous system
· Sensing feeling and understanding our cycles of perception, our patterns of reaction, and potential points or pathways towards creating change
.... considering the role of the endocrine system in communication and perception
.... and more, depending on where the seasons take us!
