Bushcare for Beginners at Fred Hollows Reserve

Join our friendly Bushcare Team at Fred Hollows Reserve for an introduction to bushcare volunteering.

Suitable for 7-years and up, this is a great opportunity to learn the craft of bush regeneration alongside Council's knowledgeable Bushcare team and dedicated bushcare volunteers at this hidden location. 
All tools, training and equipment is provided in a welcoming team environment. This is a steep site, suitable for most fit and active adults and children to navigate.

You'll meet neighbours, be active and learn something about your local area. 

The session runs till 12pm. You are welcome to stay the duration of the activity or head off early. 

Meet at the Bligh Place entrance to Fred Hollows Reserve, Randwick

What's provided!

• Gloves
• gardening tools and equipment
• morning tea! 
  

What to bring?

• sturdy, non-slip and enclosed shoes
• long sleeves and long trousers
• hat and sunglasses
• water to drink and a mug for morning tea! and ..
• a positive, "give-it-a-go" attitude!

Important notes!

• Minimum age 7 years
• Children under 16 must be accompanied by a parent or adult guardian
• The event may be cancelled due to insufficient bookings or poor weather.

Fred Hollows reserve is a unique vegetated gully in the heart of Randwick.

Photographs, videos and voice recordings

Randwick City Council staff may on occasion take recordings of participants during activities (including photographs, videos and voice recordings) that could be used for the following purposes:

• educational or community information purpose
• Council displays and promotions of community education events
• to complement the promotion of Randwick's Marine and Coastal Program.

If you DO NOT wish for the participant’s recording to be used according to these conditions, please indicate this during the booking process.

Cancellation conditions

This activity may be cancelled due to insufficient bookings or poor weather. Participants will be advised in the event the activity changes or cancellation occurs. All care has been made in the preparation of the 2024 Marine and Coastal Discovery Program but some changes may occur due to circumstances beyond the control of Randwick City Council. Refunds will be provided for paid activities in the event of cancellation by Council.
