Bushcare for Beginners at Gordons Bay
Event description
Situated within the UNSW campus grounds this bushcare spot is rarely accessible to the public and feels like a world away from busy Sydney.
Join our friendly Bushcare Team for a leisurely Sunday introduction to bushcare volunteering at beautiful Gordons Bay.
Suitable for 7-years and up, this is a great opportunity to learn the craft of bush regeneration alongside
Council's knowledgeable Bushcare team and dedicated bushcare volunteers at this
spectacular location.
Bring the kids along and immerse yourselves in one of the larger remaining patches of coastal heath overlooking scenic Gordons Bay.
The event will involve a mass planting of indigenous coastal heath species to support habitat for small birds. Â
- All tools, training and equipment is provided in a welcoming team environment.Â
- You'll meet neighbours, be active and learn something about your local area.Â
- The session runs till 12pm. You are welcome to stay the duration of the activity or head off early.Â

Important notes!
- Minimum age 7 years
- Children under 16 must be accompanied by a parent or adult guardian
- The
event may be cancelled due to insufficient bookings or poor weather.
Photographs, videos and voice recordings
Randwick City Council staff may on occasion take recordings of participants during activities (including photographs, videos and voice recordings) that could be used for the following purposes:
- educational or community information purpose
- Council displays and promotions of community education events
- to complement the promotion of Randwick's Marine and Coastal Program.
If you DO NOT wish for the participant’s recording to be used according to these conditions, please indicate this during the booking process.
Cancellation conditions
This activity may be cancelled due to insufficient bookings or poor weather. Participants will be advised in the event
the activity changes or cancellation occurs. All care has been made in the preparation of the 2024 Marine and
Coastal Discovery Program but some changes may occur due to circumstances beyond the control of Randwick City
Council. Refunds will be provided for paid activities in the event of cancellation by Council.
