Description

This Month’s Topic

Supporting Mental Health with ACE: Ask, Communicate, Enlist.

Running a small business is rewarding, but it can also be isolating, stressful and demanding. We often spend so much time looking after the work in front of us that we forget to check in on ourselves and those around us.

Join us for Business Before Hours with Tracy Waddell, Population Health Coordinator for WA Country Health Service Great Southern, as she introduces the ACE Suicide Prevention campaign and shares practical ways small business owners can recognise when someone may be struggling and how to confidently start a supportive conversation. A valuable and learnable skill for everyone.

This 10-15 minute session will explore:

  • Recognising signs that someone may need support

  • The ACE approach and how it can be used in everyday conversations

  • Creating a workplace culture where people feel comfortable seeking help

  • Local support services and resources available across the Great Southern

Whether you're a sole trader, employer, manager or team member, this presentation will provide simple, practical tools that could make a positive difference in your workplace and community.

Please RSVP so we can make you a free bacon and egg sandwich. Help yourself to tea and coffee facilities.

About Business Before Hours

Held on the third Thursday of each month, this casual event invites small business operators and sole traders to join us for a bacon and egg roll from 7:30am to 8:30am. A 10-15 minute presentation is delivered on the month’s topic. It’s a chance for people to connect and learn about events, business programs and services in a way that respects busy schedules.

This monthly program is aimed at breaking down the barriers between business owners and information about region-specific resources and initiatives that can support their business planning/management and work-life balance.
