Business for Good Workshop: Fundamentals of Financial Management
Event description
Who is this for?
This workshop is designed for South Australian small businesses that are passionate about making a difference. Whether you're a social enterprise, a First Nations owned business, a certified B Corp, or a small or family business looking to embed social and environmental impact into your operations - you’re warmly invited to join us.
About the Workshop
Running a purpose-led business is exciting! But between customers, suppliers, and making an impact, finances can feel overwhelming. How do you build a financial foundation that truly fuels your mission?
This workshop makes financial management simple, practical, and (hopefully) enjoyable. You’ll learn how to understand your cash flow, budget smartly, and make confident, informed decisions that help your business and impact grow sustainably.
It will also cover how to price your products or services, calculate your breakeven point, and cost up important contracts. Through real-world examples and hands-on activities, you’ll work alongside peers and leave with a clear, easy-to-use financial toolkit ready to put into action.
Facilitator
Rida Jafri is a finance leader with over 17 years of experience helping businesses make confident and informed financial decisions. A Chartered Accountant, she began her career at EY and has worked across industries from retail and FMCG to not-for-profits and social enterprises, with clients ranging from start-ups and community organisations to major brands like Target, Kmart, Unilever, and GSK.
In 2025, Rida founded Social CFO to level the playing field, empowering purpose-led organisations to access the same high-calibre financial guidance as large corporations.
When she’s not demystifying finance, Rida is a mum to an almost-teen, dreams of community living on a farm, and is completing a Master of Economics of Sustainability in her quest for a fairer economic future.
