Who is this for?

This workshop is designed for South Australian small businesses that are passionate about making a difference. Whether you're a social enterprise, a First Nations owned business, a certified B Corp, or a small or family business looking to embed social and environmental impact into your operations - you’re warmly invited to join us.

About the Workshop

The workshop will provide an overview of capital raising options and considerations for social entrepreneurs, helping participants think through the trade-offs and possible opportunities for each option. We will cover the "5 C's for Successful Funding" model - Clarity, Credibility, Communities, Channels and Courage - focusing on the actions that can be taken to create more clarity, credibility and momentum early on to increase the ability to raise capital.

Facilitator

Led by Tom Dawkins, Co-founder of StartSomeGood and Chief Impact Officer at LendForGood. Tom is a nationally recognised expert in social enterprise and impact funding, with a wealth of experience helping purpose-driven businesses grow. For this workshop, Tom will be joining us online from New South Wales.

Eligibility & Program Info

To attend, you must:

  • Hold a current ABN

  • Be based in South Australia

  • Be a small business (up to 20 FTE employees) or a family business

  • Be ready to learn how to embed impact in your business

Participation in this workshop means you’re joining the Business for Good program. At your first event, we’ll collect a few business details to help us meet our reporting requirements. Once you’ve signed up once, future registrations will be quicker and easier.

About the Program

The Business for Good Sector Development Program 2025-27 is an initiative of the Government of South Australia’s Office for Small and Family Business and the South Australian Small Business Strategy 2023 – 2030. Delivered in partnership by the South Australian Social Enterprise Council (SASEC) and Collab4Good, the 2-year Business for Good Program will support South Australian small social enterprise businesses with key business fundamentals to strengthen their knowledge, capacity and capability to deliver social, environmental and economic outcomes for SA with long-term business sustainability and growth.
