Business, Investing & Career Opportunities in Healthcare, Especially Pharma 

Healthcare, including pharma, continues to be a growing part of the economy. What are the major long term trends? Given rising costs, can universities continue to be major sources of new medical discoveries? How is artificial intelligence changing research and other medical practices? Which skills are in demand? These and other issues will be discussed by Colby Kash of Camelot Capital and Steven Mah, a biotech analyst.

Colby Kash is co-founder and Chief Executive of Camelot Biocapital, which partners/advises with inventors, research centers, and academic institutions as well as bankers, investors and patent attorneys to move new compounds through the FDA approval pipeline. Camelot's active fund has raised $100 million. Its principals have raised more than $2 billion in their careers, advanced over 20 new drugs into human and clinical development (10 biotech unicorns with $1 billion valuations) and received FDA approval for seven drugs. Colby earned a Doctor in Chiropractic, Northeast College of Health Sciences, and a BS in applied physiology from the University of Florida. 

Steven Mah was a managing director and senior equity analyst, Life Sciences and Diagnostic Tools, at TD Cowen, (2022-2024). Earlier, he was at Piper Sandler, 2007-2021; and a scientist at Sequenom, 2002-2005. Steven earned a PhD in Molecular Biology from the University of California San Diego and an MBA from Cornell.
