Confident Conversations: Leadership Masterclass for Emerging Retail and Hospitality Leaders

In this three-hour workshop participants will develop a better understanding of themselves and others - useful for interactions and conversations with both their team and their customers. Having the ability to flex to other communication styles leads to positive vibes and reduced misunderstandings and conflict.

Hospitality trainer, Marg Main, will cover:

  • Who do we communicate with in our leadership role? How do we define positive leadership communication?

  • What’s involved with face-to-face communication?

  • Personality Plus - understanding your personal communication/conversation style

  • Developing self-awareness - understanding you to understand others. What can happen to our personality and communication when we are under pressure or stress?

  • Respond vs React - some examples of tricky conversations with customers and teams - how to create win-win outcomes for all!

About the Speaker
Marg Main, from Turning Tables and Conversations that Matter, has been involved with the hospitality industry since leaving school to attend the then hospitality school at CIT in Trentham. She vividly remembers the school career counsellor telling her she might get rather bored with hospitality work...now with over 30 years of experience, boring is not a word she has ever thought about when it comes to this industry!

Marg has been involved in many facets of hospitality including restaurants, lodges, hotels, ski resorts, cafes, bars, catering companies, on premise wine sales and cellar door as well as HR and training roles.

Marg is very passionate about using her varied experiences within the industry to inspire, interest and educate team members and managers in both hospitality and retail businesses across New Zealand through her business.
