Description
Registration is required and only available to members. Active AIA member number required for RSVP.
Join AIA Colorado's Business of Architecture Committee for an AIA Colorado members only roundtable discussion regarding design build. This is a hybrid event, taking place in person and online.
Did you know that design-build was once considered a niche alternative for project delivery?
Today, it is the fastest-growing and most commonly used project delivery method. Nearly half of all design and construction projects in the United States are delivered using some form of design-build. It is widely used for private- and public-sector projects at the federal, state, and municipal levels.
How can architects strengthen partnerships with builders and owners, creating an integrated team that works together toward a successful project?
We will discuss how design-build project delivery has evolved and what successful design-build projects have in common. We will also explore how architects can integrate design with construction means and methods, as well as construction schedules, to deliver successful projects.
We will be joined by:
Greg Gidez, FAIA, past president & leading educator with the DBIA (Design Build Institute of America
John Kudryki, AIA, Principal with Fentress Architects
Ashleigh Quillen & Mark Wilcox with DHM Design, Landscape Architects who all have extensive experience teaming on Design Build Projects.
