Butch Cassidy's Wild Bunch Days 2025
Event description
June 24, 1889 the San Miguel Bank in Telluride was robbed by Matt Warner, Tom McCarty and Bob Parker more commonly known as Butch Cassidy. On their retreat to elude the posses that were converging on them from Colorado and Utah as they made their way to Robbers Roost; zigging in and out of both states and then on to Browns Park. Part of their route passed through here as they came upon a group of White River Utes and traded with them for fresh horses before they rode back into Utah to cross the Green River and head back northeast into Browns Park.
In recognition of Butch's first Bank Heist, we are hosting one helluva party this August 22nd-23rd in Rangely Colorado! Come celebrate the history of an area that is still very much the wild west of it's time. Come visit this place that I can only imagine has borne witness to so many stories and campfire tales that it begs for an audience again!
