Butter Believe It

Join us for an all-ages butter shaking event where everyone will get the opportunity to learn about functional ceramics and make their own butter. A museum docent will give us a tour of Hot and Ready to Serve: Celebrating Functional Ceramics and show us butter churns from the AMOCA collection. Then, we’ll learn how to create our own butter out of buttermilk! Toward the end of the workshop everyone will be able to flavor and salt their butter using local herbs from our community garden Lopez Farms. 

Youth 16 and under must be accompanied by a paying adult.

All materials–a small mason jar, buttermilk, and local herbs from Lopez Urban Farm–are included, but some muscle will be needed to shake some butter.

Your Butter Believe It ticket includes admission to the museum the day of the event. AMOCA is open 11am-4pm on Saturday, July 12.
