Event description

This project of mine steamed from my winning outfit which was inspired by my personal experiences with mental health and an eating disorder. I could have kept going down that dark path, but I chose to turn that negative energy into something positive. I want to show people that things can get better and you are never alone.

More Than Just a Fashion Show is a charity event to help raise awareness for Mental Health and to support and shine the light on an amazing group of people here in Dunedin

All profits from the show will be going to Life Matters Suicide Prevention Trust.

Life Matters Suicide Prevention Trust | Te Whare Oranga Ngākau is a Peer-Governed and Peer-Led organisation striving to help members of our community who are at risk of, or affected by, suicide. We provide Peer Support for tāngata whaiora (person seeking health) in mental distress or in crisis by using our own lived-experience. Peer support is a non-clinical support model in which experential knowledge is shared between two people. We run suicide bereavement support and whānau support groups monthly as well as delivering mental health workshops around suicide prevention and safe conversations.
