Bring Your Own Wonder (BYOW)
Description
Bring Your Own Wonder (BYOW) is a monthly community gathering for curious people who enjoy ideas, stories and unexpected conversations. Open mind, open hearts.
It provides a welcoming space for people to share the subjects that make them stop, think, laugh or see the world differently. No expertise is required, just curiosity, kindness and an open mind.
What BYOW is: A relaxed monthly gathering where curious people share ideas, stories, discoveries and creative expressions.
What “wonder” means: Anything that sparks curiosity, imagination, reflection or a sense of connection. Wonder might come from science, history, nature, spirituality, philosophy, culture, art, music, poetry or an unexpected personal experience.
Who it is for: Open-minded adults aged 18-80+, from any background. No qualifications or presentation experience required.
How gatherings work: Approximately 10 - 20 people meet in an informal setting. Anyone who wishes can share something for around 10 -15 minutes.
Ways to participate: Bring a few slides, read a poem, share a story, perform a song, introduce an unusual idea, or simply come along to listen.
The atmosphere: Friendly, respectful and conversational. Curiosity is encouraged; debating people into submission is not. The more we know, the less we understand.
