De Novo has been formed by professional performers from various other groups. All of our members also have an extensive background in musical theatre which makes for a great point of difference. 

De Novo brings a mixture of music and humour to the stage.  The start of our show is all about the glitz and glamour of showbiz with popular songs from stage and song. We then take you for a trip down memory lane with tributes to our favourite jazz singers of the Golden Age before wrapping up the entertainment with a medley of songs from living legends! From rat pack to rhapsody, vaudeville to Vegas and classical to classics, our trio show aims to delight crowds of all ages.

Melissa

With more than 30 productions under her belt, Melissa's passion for singing and performance is a permanent fixture in her life! She has played roles such as Eva Peron in Evita, Mary in Mary Poppins, Kate Sheppard in That Bloody Woman and most recently, portraying the diva Carlotta in Phantom of the Opera. After forming De Novo I'm 2017, she is thrilled to welcome you to a night of cabaret, sharing the stage with her best friends! 

Kristen

Kristen has performed in shows such as Mamma Mia, Mary Poppins and most recently “All Shook Up”; relocating to Auckland to pursue her next career step as a Hotel General Manager; Kristen is thrilled to perform for you today with her dazzling cabaret singing family of 8years“De Novo”

Mark

For 3 decades Mark has been entertaining audiences across New Zealand including numerous lead and supportive roles in Stage Musicals, Contemporary and Shakespearian plays and in the Corporate Entertainment scene. Marks humour combined with his passion for “Rat Pack” style Jazz has given joy and laughter to many. He is thrilled to have the opportunity to continue to entertain alongside his Young and Talented friends.

Steve

Steve has always had a passion for the performing arts and manages youth development programmes that utilises creative arts to develop confidence and skills for Rotorua youth.

Steve has performed in EVITA, MAMMA MIA! and most recently performed the character of Monsieur Gilles André in The Phantom of the Opera. He also directed the hit musical Rock of Ages. Steve is excited to be able to join his friends in bringing this night of entertainment.
