Cacao Ceremony & Community Feast
Event description
Cacao Ceremony & Community Feast
10 – 2PM
Cacao, the medicine of our hearts, is here to bring us back to love and remind us of our true nature.
This event is part self-connection, part community creation. Beginning with a Cacao Ceremony and then closing with a pot-luck style feast.
The ceremony is a time and space to be with the medicine, a time and space to simply be.
The feast is a time for celebration, true and real sharing and delicious food.
Each time we gather in circle and share a cup of Cacao, we are able to learn something new. We touch on compassion, sometimes sadness, hope and of course love. At the end of ceremony, united by the shared yet individual experience and the heart-opening qualities of Cacao, there is often a reluctance to return to the “world outside” the container we have created. As well as acknowledging the collective experience of Melbourne’s long lockdown
The healing power of this medicine offers us a chance to be deeply with ourselves in order to share with others from this authentic place.
Fruit & snacks will be provided but the encouragement is to bring a plate of food to share.
Vegan & gluten-free where possible.
“When asked my favourite “thing” about Cacao it is the people I have met and connected with through this medicine”
-Audrey Warren (Founder, Love Bean Cacao)
What is Cacao?
Cacao is chocolate in its purest form. Used for centuries by Mayan, Aztec and other meso-american cultures; in ceremony and daily life as a medicine and sacred food it is “returning” now as a way to bring us back into balance with nature and our hearts.
Cacao opens us to connect more with who we truly are, it invites all feelings but is known as a heart-opening medicine as its properties indeed increase sensations of love, joy and contentment due to the release of seretonin and the presence of other blissful compounds. (anandamide and phenylthamine)
What is a Cacao Ceremony?
A Cacao Ceremony is a gathering to share and experience with and from the medicine of Cacao. Simply put we drink a cup of strong hot chocolate or Ceremonial-grade Cacao and melt into the space with a guided meditation.
The ceremony is a place to slow down and connect to our true nature of love supported by this sacred medicine and to be held in a space to feel, release and be.
What you need to know:
-You need just comfortable clothing, a water bottle (hydration is important)
-You will be sitting cross-legged for some of the time and then can move to lay down during the meditation.
-Lighter meals are recommended prior as Cacao can be strong on our bellies but listen to what your body needs.
-Anybody with heart issues or taking anti-depressant medication please inform Audrey so dosage can be adjusted as there can be contra-indications.
Who is facilitating?

She has been facilitating ceremonies in the USA and Guatemala and Australia. In 2017 Audrey began working with Mayan daykeepers (spiritual guides/elders) and has formed a strong connection to the Mayan wisdom, culture and traditions, she has permission from her Mayan teacher to work with this medicine.
This very special Ceremonial-grade Cacao is sourced from Guatemala and is vegan and gluten-free - just chocolate and water!
