SUNDAY POP UP #2 - RACHA'S SYRIAN KITCHEN
Join us for our next chef pop-up on Sunday June 20 by Racha's Syrian Kitchen, in collaboration with social enterprise, Welcome Merchant (welcomemerchant.com) to herald the start of Refugee Week 2021! A portion of proceeds will go towards Welcome Merchant, a social enterprise that delivers curated dining experiences in partnership with refugee and migrant-owned businesses such as Racha's Syrian Kitchen. On the same day, four artists from Welcome Merchant will be presenting a group exhibition ‘Finding Self’ curated by Mariia Zhuchenko. Works by Emmanuel Asante, Nadia Obeid, Najla Sbei and Raneen Shamon explore the act of (de)constructing cultural identity and reflect on the journey of finding one’s place in the politically and socially changing environment. The exhibition will open at 2pm featuring tunes from African and Middle Eastern regions by Dylan Berg.

Vegetarian Kebbeh (finely ground potato and bulgur filled with sautéed swiss chard, onion, garlic, pomegranate and walnuts) drizzled with lemon, garlic and olive oil.

Thinly sliced marinated chicken grilled and cooked to perfection, served with bread, pickles, garlic dip, bewaz (fresh parsley, sumac and onion)

Eggplant Fatteh: A classic Syrian dish made from eggplant, fried pita bread and a tahini yogurt sauce. The first layer is crunchy pita bread pieces mixed with homemade tomato/onion sauce, topped with roasted eggplant, minced beef and yogurt tahini sauce, sprinkled with crunchy nuts, fresh parsley and pomegranate seeds.
