Event description

Café Philosophique: Home

Café Philosophique runs the 2nd Wednesday of the month at the Bridge Hotel in Werribee, exploring the hidden forces that shape our lives through music, poetry and conversation.

On Wednesday July 9th, we will be exploring the idea of HOME.

Do you feel you’ve found home? What makes it that? Or do you feel you are always searching for it? How can we find peace where we lay our feet?

The evening will begin with a presentation from interdisciplinary artist and researcher Anindita Banerjee, whose practise explores cultural otherness, authentic identity and the sense of home. The presentation will include a screening of her documentary and research project Place Patterns, that explores the meaning of home to various Wyndham residents through recorded interviews.

We will then hear from our feature poet Thabani T Tshuma, who will lead us into our own creative and reflective writing.

After some sharing, we will end with some delicious deserts and deep conversations through our "philosophy café".
