Description
The course aims to provide comprehensive understanding and application of the Australasian Triage Scale (ATS), Through communication, assessment, category descriptors and documentation.
- Apply structured approach to assessment and documentation to assign ATS.
- Describe elements of collaborative communication, how it impacts assessment and identify any barriers to communication and mitigation strategies.
- Identify common adult and paediatric presentations, assessment skill, risk factors, red flags and appropriately apply ATS
- Describe the components of a focussed assessment in adult and paediatric patients.
- Effectively use MIST framework to communicate critical information.
- Understand physiological and anatomical changes in pregnancy and significant pregnancy complications.
- Identify the unique features in children that affect their presentation of symptoms and types of illness and injuries
