CALL CENTRE - Double Single Release - with Hospital Sports and BJ Leo

Call Centre welcomes you to join them in celebration of the release of two brand new singles, ‘A New Landspeed Record’ and ‘Mending Steam Engines’. The former presents plucky middle-western emotive guitars over frenetic, pulsing drums, while the later plumbs the depths of eerie, echoing, downtempo garage.

Call Centre are a four piece instrumental outfit from Te Whanganui-a-Tara whose members share an undying and equal passion for intricate guitar work, danceable rhythms, and derelict, dissonant soundscapes. Not only that, they’re coming to a town near you in October!

BJ Leo is a sonic artist from Tāmaki Makaurau working in experimental electronic music, live performance and spatial audio. A graduate of NZSM Te Kokī, he has released music on Related Articles, Strange Behaviour and Finest Ego, including the 2023 EP Mutuals. Alongside these releases, he has developed spatial and immersive works through projects at SpaesLab, 4DSOUND, and ZiMMT, ICMC, ACMC, University of Greenwich and University of Helsinki. His practice draws on spectral processing, decomposition and spatialisation to pull sounds apart and reassemble them into spatial compositions.
