Route

56 miles, chit-chat pace (10 - 12mph)
What to expect
Saturday, October 4th we will leave from Dear Diary Coffee in Austin, TX. If you're driving to the ride, you can park in the neighborhood.
We'll ride to the HEB in Lockhart, and then continue on to the Spencer Shady Grove campground.
If you can, keep space in your bags so you can stock up on drinks and munchies at HEB.
We usually arrive in Lockhart around lunchtime and Shady Grove at around 5:00pm.
The campground has access to a beautiful clear and shallow river. We like to sit around in the water and drink stuff.
Saturday evening, there is almost always some kind of music event in the little main street part of Martindale. There's also a couple of restaurants in the area, so you can buy yourself a sandwich and listen to tunes under the stars.

44 miles, chit-chat pace (10 - 12mph)
What to expect
The way back is more direct, but it's still a very chill ride-all-day sort of vibe.
Folks tend to wake up and pack up around 8am. You can eat your HEB munchies for breakfast or buy tacos to-go at Hermanos Taqueria.
We will stop at Texas Cidery for lunch before completing our journey.
LESS RIDE & NO RIDE OPTIONS
You don't have to ride to participate in Call of the Mild. In fact, it's kind of nice to know some people will be driving in case the riders need assistance.
Less Ride
You can ride from Lockhart to Martindale with the main group, and then ride back to Lockhart on your own (or with other "Less Ride" people). Here's the route to return to Lockhart Sunday morning:
https://www.strava.com/routes/3398334103086308890
It's just 13 miles.
No Ride
You can also just head straight to Shady Grove Saturday evening to hang out with everybody.
Bring camping stuff if you want to stay the night.
COST
When you get tickets, we'll collect your $10.00 park fee. We'll use this money to reimburse Molly who was kind enough to reserve the campground for us.
At the campground, we might all agree to order a pizza or something like that. If that happen's, you'll just chip in for the cost (assuming you want pizza too). You are encouraged to bring $20.00 worth of $5s with you just in case.
