Event description

This walk introduces you to some of the folks that made their lives along Mugga Way, neighbours for Harry and Della Calthorpe of Calthorpes House. Judges, scientists, the national librarian, newspaper men and captains of industry, not to mention senior public servants and more. Who were these families and what was their legacy politically, professionally and socially for the fledgling capital. And if Mugga Way was the exclusive enclave of the new Canberra, where did the workers who built Canberra lived?

The walk will be followed by a chance to view the new exhibition at Calthorpes House and delve into family stories with the audio tour of the garden.

Wear walking shoes, hat and suitable clothing. Bring your water bottle.
