CANBERRA SLAM IS BACK DIVAS!
If this is the first you've heard of us, we've been party rocking since 2022.
After a few big years, we took a sweet 5 months off to " find ourself "...
... but we just found we missed you all!
Let's celebrate together by sharing the evening with Sarah Temporal!!
One of the best in the game.
She's coming all the way from Bundjalung Country / Northern Rivers for lil' old us!
Hand delivering her soon to be cult classic collection of poems - Tight Bindings.

For those new to our community, a slam looks like …
🎤 A silly and sometimes chaotic, high energy host.
🎤 A round of open mic performances who get scored by "expert judges"
who we *randomly* select from the audience,
with a winner announced at the end of the night,
who takes home a modest prize.
🎤 A lot of feelings, it's a privilege to hear someone share vulnerably.
You might find your story in theirs.
🎤 A feature set from some of the best writers who perform in Australia!!
_______________________________________
Canberra Slam exists for the sharing and listening to of human stories.
We value community above all else.
All are welcomed and encouraged to share their stories.
All expressions of sexuality, gender, spirituality, beliefs, culture and diversity in experience is celebrated.
Community can be complicated -
we come from all walks of life, contrasting ways of seeing the world.
Hard conversations are easier when they are had with respect and empathy.
