Event description

Canberra Women of Science and Art - webinars, a competition, fun activities.

Webinar: 7:30pm AEST Monday 17th August

Meet a diverse group of amazing Canberran women working in or inspired by science, tech, engineering, art and maths (STEAM).

These interesting people are anything but ‘boring scientists’ or 'wacky artists'. Their career paths have not been traditional. Some of them didn't do well in subjects at school (and that's been fine!).

They have written books; invented a robot; created new technology to tell ancient, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander stories; taught children how to investigate and draw nature; pushed for action on climate change and other environmental and world problems…

This second webinar is aimed at teens and will feature Mikaela Jade and Maddie Diamond. (However, anyone of any age can attend.)

  • Mikaela Jade is an Indigenous entrepreneur, Founder and CEO of Indigital, a technology, education and social enterprise
  • Maddie Diamond is a social and environmental activist (disruptor and awesome young person!), Executive Officer of SEE-Change, Founder of Trash Gather.
