Candlelit Concerts - it's a night out that feels good and does good!
Event description
Step into an evening of warmth, wonder, and world-class music at our exclusive Candlelit Concert Series — a magical event that happens only four times a year.
Once each season, our beautifully historic local church is transformed into an intimate haven, softly illuminated by the glow of 800 flickering candles. The result? A truly enchanting atmosphere that invites you to pause, breathe, and connect.
Before the music begins, you’ll be welcomed with light refreshments and dessert nibbles, setting the tone for a relaxing, uplifting night. Then settle in for 75 minutes of exquisite acoustic music, carefully curated to soothe the soul and spark joy.
🎟️ Limited to just 100 guests, this is a rare opportunity to enjoy extraordinary live music in a cozy, welcoming setting.
💰 Tickets: $35 each
🎹 This time, we’ll also have entertainment (from 7.10pm to 7.30pm) by a talented young musician playing our baby grand piano — the perfect way to set the mood for the night ahead.
🕰️ Doors open at 7:00pm, with music starting shortly after 7:30pm — the perfect way to unwind after dinner.
📍 Venue: Our beautifully historic local church, lovingly transformed for the night.

Featuring national champion accordionist Rebekah Greig, former NZSO members Robin Perks (violin) and Debbie Rawson (clarinet), and RNZ classical and jazz expert Nick Tipping (double bass), The Kugels have been captivating audiences across Aotearoa for over 15 years.
Their music draws deeply from Eastern European traditions and beyond, with a special focus on klezmer — a genre that swings between soul-stirring melancholy and infectious joy, moving audiences to laugh, cry, and even dance in the aisles. After nationwide tours with Arts on Tour NZ and Chamber Music New Zealand, and performances at major festivals, The Kugels continue to enchant and inspire wherever they play.
Even more special, each concert helps support valuable community programmes and initiatives — making your night out one that feels good and does good.
Whether you come for the spellbinding music, the magical candlelit setting, or the sense of connection and community, we promise an evening you’ll never forget — and one you’ll want to return to, season after season.
