    Event description

Canterbury Tech Monthly Event - September 2021

    Theme: HI TECH TRANSPORTATION

Although Covid may have put a spanner in the works for meeting and connecting at Canterbury Tech Summit this week, as a small consolation, we've lined up a couple of GREAT speakers who will talk to us about their Hi Tech Transportation projects.

Hosted by Canterbury Tech's Neil Hamilton and EPIC Podcast host Andy Poulsen, this event is an excellent opportunity to get together safely in Alert Level 3.

So BYO your favourite tipple and nibbles and join us online for this special event on Thursday!

    When - Thursday 2 September

    Time - 5pm - 6pm

Where - Zoom; a link will be emailed to you prior to the event

    Our Speakers...

Stefan or James Powell - Dawn Aerospace

Dawn Aerospace will join us to provide an update on their latest exciting activities, including the recent five test flights of the company’s Mk-II Aurora suborbital spaceplane out of Glentanner near Mt Cook.

Rollo Wenlock  - Founder of Wipster

Rollo is a Canterbury native, but he's been out and about in recent years. After graduating from Ara in 2001, he spent a spell in Wellington, then the UK, then Wellington again where he founded his startup Wipster. He then relocated to Portland Oregon to progress Wipster, before returning to CHC in early 2020.

He stepped back from being CEO of Wipster late last year and has been getting his teeth stuck into his next big project - finding a way to put high-speed railcars on NZ's existing rail infrastructure! Rollo will pitch his idea to us and is looking for both supporters and collaborators to advance the cause.

NB: Canterbury Tech Summit 2021 has been postponed from Thursday 27 October to Wednesday 27 October 2021.  We look forward to seeing you all face-to-face again then!
