Assessing Decision Making Capacity — Full-Day Masterclass for Psychologists (Malaysia)

Where the law is silent, your assessment speaks. This full-day masterclass shows you how to build capacity assessments that carry real weight, for your clients and for the courts.

Your presenter is Dr Judy Tang OAM, a clinical neuropsychologist who has assessed capacity in contested cases and defended her reports under cross-examination. She has built this day from those cases.

Dr Tang will walk you through five modules: Malaysian capacity law in practice; the capacity assessment from first phone call to final report; assessing decisions about money and wills; recognising pressure, undue influence and elder abuse; and appearing as an expert witness in court.

In this masterclass, you will learn to run a defensible assessment, choose the right tests for Malaysian clients, assess against what courts expect, spot the warning signs of abuse, and write and defend an expert report.

The day is hands-on and relaxed, with real cases, group exercises and plenty of discussion. You will take home case exercises, a contested-will case study, a workbook and a report template. 6 CPD hours. Light refreshments provided.
