'CAPPELLETTI IN BRODO' ITALIAN COOKING CLASS
Event description
'Capelletti in brodo' is a traditional dish from Northern Italy we make during Christmas.
Join North Italian Cooks Claudia and Gina to make and take home this unique Italian delicacy for your family members and friends during this festive season.
You will learn how to make Capelletti in brodo from scratch.
Cappelletti are ring-shaped stuffed pasta so called for the characteristic shape that resemble a hat. Compared to tortellini, they have a different shape, larger size, thicker dough and different filling. Cappelletti are small meat-filled pasta “bonnets,” similar to Bologna’s hat-shaped tortellini but round in shape and lacking that signature triangular peak. They hail from Italy and are the highlight of the Christmas Day meal.
The version we are sharing here is Gina 's great grandmother! We know Nonna makes it the best! For generations our families made cappelletti every year, and we have followed in their footsteps.
During the event we will cook together as a group, having a lot of fun while learning something new with a final taste and your portion of Cappelletti to take home.
