    Captivating Botanicals

    You will learn how to work with a photographic reference from initial sketching up to applying acrylic paint techniques through layering, creating a vibrant and captivating Botanical artwork. 

    By the end of this course students will: be able to sketch up a design using the fundamentals of composition and work with colour and design principles.

    THIS CLASS IS FOR: beginners as well as those with experience.

    LOCATION: Woolgoolga Gallery 73 Turon Parade Woolgoolga

    TIME: Tuesdays 1pm to 4pm

    DURATION: 6 weeks

    REQUIRED MATERIALS

    • Palette for mixing
    • Willow Charcoal/pencil do draw up
    • Water container
    • Paper towel
    • Acrylics- student quality(Matisse/Atelier etc)
    • Suggested Colours-Cad yellow, lemon yellow, Alizarin crimson, red light, magenta, pthalo blue, ultramarine blue, titanium white,Paynes grey
    • Brushes- variety of flat, filbert and small round
    • Hairdryer
    • Framed canvas from Kmart 16x 20 inch or 12x12 inch or both

    ABOUT THE TUTOR 

    Julianne Gosper has 25+ years experience both as a practising artist and Art teacher  in both secondary schools and T.A.F.E. 

    She holds a B.A in Fine Arts, U.N.S.W and a Diploma in Arts Education from Deakin University. 

    She has won numerous awards including The Bendigo Art prize, the Louis Ellem Art Prize and in 2021 she was also selected as a finalist in the Jacaranda Acquisitive Drawing Award.

    Julianne loves to explore and experiment in a variety of mediums to produce energetic, large scale artworks capturing the essence of her subject matter.

    She loves to share her knowledge and skills to inspire others with a particular focus on experimentation and having fun. 

    Julianne has a particular interest in advocating the benefits of the Arts for Wellbeing. For the past several years she has worked with Special needs students developing an Arts Enrichment Program focussing on improving mental health building confidence and self esteem.
