Cardiac Advanced Life Support (CALS)

Gold Coast CALS is a one-day simulation and team-work focussed course on the management of the deteriorating cardiothoracic surgery patient. 

We have a generous balance of lectures, practical sessions and graded simulations that suit all skill sets.

Some specific management and skills covered include ; 

• Systematic assessment and management of the deteriorating patient 
• The CALS Protocol 
• Emergency re-sternotomy and internal cardiac massage and defibrillation  
• Emergency pacing and pacemaker troubleshooting
