In June, we are excited to welcome Dr James Young and learn how he became the School Manager of Social and Political Sciences at the University of Sydney.
James Young has worked at the University of Sydney since 2008 when he graduated with a PhD in Soviet History through the then Faculty of Economics and Business. After seven years as a casual academic and research assistant in the areas of political science and international relations, he moved into a professional staff role in the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences (FASS). Since 2018, he has worked in a variety of non-academic roles at the University, including as Head of Student Success and Head, Education (FASS) in the Education portfolio and as a Research Support Officer in a School and Multi-Disciplinary Research Initiative. His substantive position is as School Manager in the School of Social and Political Sciences.
