Presented by Castaways Curator Lyn Di Ciero. 

Join Castaways curator Lyn Di Ciero for an online session about how to enter into the Main Exhibition and Maquette and Small Sculpture Exhibition of the City of Rockingham Castaways Sculpture Awards. She will also share tips and tricks on how to make your entry stand out. The session is free, but registration is required. A link will be sent to participants prior to the event.

Entries are now open for the 2025 Castaways Sculpture Awards, the City of Rockingham's iconic event celebrating artistic innovation and environmental awareness featuring artworks created from repurposed materials at Rockingham Foreshore. Castaways consists of three exhibitions, with a non-acquisitive prize pool of $27,250:

The Maquette and Small Sculpture Exhibition at Rockingham Arts Centre

The Schools Competition on Rockingham Foreshore

ABOUT LYN DI CIERO

Lyn Di Ciero is a visual arts writer, curator and filmmaker who established the Artist’s Chronicle in 1991, the longest-running independent visual arts magazine in Western Australia’s history, and is also a former visual arts feature writer for The West Australian newspaper (2010-16).

She has documented several art collections including the City of Belmont, City of Rockingham, Town of Mosman Park and Perth Airport.

She has curated the City of Rockingham Castaways Sculpture Awards since its inception in 2009 and the ongoing annual Soroptimist International of Fremantle Help the Homeless Fine Art Auction from 2010-2023, raising over $280,000 for critical services for the homeless and at-risk homeless in the community. From 2020-2022 she was curator of the Mandorla Art Award, Australia’s most significant thematic Christian art prize. 

Since 2013 she has explored filmmaking as another form of storytelling in the visual arts, with her filmography including commissions from the Art Gallery of Western Australia, the City of Rockingham and St John of God Health Care.

In 2024, she founded Artoble, the art finder app, a new way of experiencing art.
