Castlemaine Fringe Art Auction
Description
Castlemaine Fringe Art Auction returns: over 75 artworks up for bid, with a launch party to kick things off
Castlemaine Fringe is calling on art lovers, collectors and curious locals to come along to its annual Art Auction - the organisation’s biggest fundraiser of the year, with more than 75 artworks donated by local artists available to purchase.
The Castlemaine Fringe Art Auction will be held on Sunday 29 November 2026, from 3pm to 7pm, at Shedshaker Taproom at The Mill, 9 Walker Street, Castlemaine.
Guests can bid on work by local artists, enjoy live music, grab a drink and have a chat, all while supporting the next Fringe Festival. There will also be a prize pool, where everyone is a winner - thanks to donations from local businesses.
As always, fifty per cent of the proceeds from every artwork sold goes directly towards funding the 2027 Castlemaine Fringe Festival, which returns 9–25 April 2027.
Funds raised from the bi-ennial auction help support the artists, performers, exhibitions and workshops that make up the Fringe program, which provides a platform for individuals and community groups across the Mount Alexander Shire. Fringe works to keep costs low and events accessible, with concession pricing, Companion Card acceptance and volunteer-for-entry opportunities.
