Casual Adult's Watercolour classes 2025

A series of casual watercolour classes for those who would like to extend their beginner to intermediate level skills further. Join me on Saturdays  for 2.5 hr sessions of exploring with watercolours. Each week we will explore watercolour foundational techniques through different projects. Please refer to the schedule below to see what each class will entail. If you have your own materials please bring them along otherwise you may purchase materials from me for a fee (fees listed under schedule) 

1st class February 8th: Colours: Touch up on your colour knowledge, get to know the colours in your palette and their properties and develop / catalogue colour scheme options that you can use repeatedly for various subjects.  

2nd class February 15th: Abstract expression: Learn to utilise your watercolours in more expressive ways, from mark making with different brushes to layering washes with lots of water. A good class to just have fun with the paints and experiment. 

3rd class March 15th: Still life 1: Learn how to compose and paint a still life of fruit and veg using quick sketch painting techniques and minimal layers

4th class March 22nd: Still life 2: Learn how to compose and paint a still life of objects made of pottery and indoor plants, using quick sketch painting techniques and minimal layers.

 5th class March 29th: Landscape elements: Study different elements in a landscape such as trees, structures, people, vegetation, water and how to loosely represent them. This will tie in with the abstracted landscapes class.

 6th class March 22nd: Abstracted landscapes: Use mark making techniques to develop land scapes and scenic paintings that have an abstracted edge. A good class to get you out of the habit of always painting realistically. 

Materials fees: 

Watercolour paper: $1 per A3 sheet

Palette and paints $15 upfront fee

paint useage thereafter 50 cents per paint serve (1 small pea sized blob)

Brush, water jar, sponge useage: free
