Casual Adult's Watercolour classes
Event description
A series of casual watercolour classes for those who would like to extend their beginner to intermediate level skills further. Join me, Rebecca Prince, on Saturdays for 2.5 hr sessions of exploring with watercolours. Each week we will explore watercolour foundational techniques through different small projects. Please refer to the schedule below to see what each class will entail. If you have your own materials please bring them along otherwise you may purchase materials from me for a fee (fees listed under schedule)Â
1st class September 7th:Â Watercolour effects:Â using salt, and other mediums with watercolour to create certain effects that can be applied to landscapes and other subject matter
2nd class September 14th:Â Painting a small simple landscape:Â learn how to paint the texture of distant trees and a hilly landscape, we will cover trees, sky and hills as well as composition and focal points.
3rd class September 21st: Watercolour and ink sketching - landscape:Â Learn to use watercolour and ink together with quick painting and sketching techniques, to depict landscapes. Ink provided.
4th class October 5th:Â Watercolour and ink sketching - buildings:Â Learn to use watercolour and ink together with quick painting and sketching techniques, to depict buildings/villages. Ink provided
5th class October 12th: Painting gum trees (middle and long distance gum trees): Learn to paint gum tree forms as part of a landscape back ground, we will focus on long distance and middle distance impressionsÂ
6th class October 19th: Painting gum trees up close: Learn to paint gum trees up close, in this class we will build on the previous week but with more of a focus on bark details and patterns. these paintings will be more about painting a gum tree as the main subject matter.Â
Materials fees:Â
Watercolour paper: $1 per A3 sheet
Palette and paints $12 upfront fee
paint useage thereafter 50 cents per paint serve (1 small pea sized blob)
Brush, water jar, sponge useage: free
