Cat Specialist Services (CSS) Seminar - Recognising pain & anxiety in cats - what to do?
Event description
Help Cats Feel Calmer, Safer and Understood
Feline patients don’t always show what they’re feeling, and pain, stress and anxiety often look the same. This free, nurse-focused seminar is designed to help you recognise the subtle differences, understand what cats are really communicating, and know how to respond in ways that improve both outcomes and wellbeing.
At Cat Specialist Services, feline behaviour is something we observe every day. As a cat-only referral hospital, we know how much a calmer cat can change the clinical experience for the patient, the team and the outcome. This session is about making that happen more often, starting with what you see, how you interpret it and how you act.
How This Seminar Will Improve Your Clinical Approach
Working with cats means reading between the lines. Pain, stress and fear often present in similar ways — and when we misread them, we risk making things worse. This seminar helps you better interpret feline behaviour, use proper handling techniques and respond with confidence, so you can improve clinical outcomes, reduce anxiety and make every encounter smoother for cats, clients and colleagues.
What You’ll Learn:
How to distinguish pain from stress or anxiety in feline patients
Recognising and interpreting subtle behavioural signals
Practical interventions for painful or anxious cats
Feline-friendly nursing techniques and environmental strategies
Tips for reducing stress during consults, handling and hospital stays
What past attendees are saying
“Thank you for the wonderful day of all things cats. I am at the opposite end of my career compared with most attendees, but still like to keep in touch with new developments, even if I am just managing my two felines.” – Previous Participant
