Catalyst for Care: Mapping the future of Queensland’s residential care workforce

We are excited to invite you to the first in a series of webinars about the transformation of Queensland's residential care landscape. Catalyst for Care is a new initiative commissioned by the Queensland Government to be delivered by PeakCare, designed to tackle current and future residential care workforce challenges in recognition of the vital role residential care plays in the out-of-home care system.

Understanding and cultivating the right conditions to attract, train, and retain the workforce needed to deliver essential residential care services across Queensland is critical. That’s why we’re seeking your input as we develop a workforce strategy for the residential care sector. This webinar is an opportunity for you to hear from us on our work so far, and from us to hear from you on what is most important to your workers, your organisation, your region and to the young people and families you serve. We want to collaborate with you to strengthen residential care, so that every young person in care has the opportunity to receive the best care, provided by the best workforce, no matter where they are in Queensland. 

Mapping the future of Queensland's residential care workforce will:

• Provide an overview of the Catalyst for Care program
• Provide an update on the progress of the three key streams of work, including the Workforce Strategy, updates to Hope and Healing, and celebrating sector achievements and best practice in residential care
• Present the preliminary findings of the Workforce Strategy's Insights and Opportunities Report 
• Outline the next steps of the program
• Answer your questions in a live Q&A session
