Catchment Conversation - Willunga Basin

Across the Hills and Fleurieu, water is under pressure. Reviews in 2023-24 found that current Water Allocation Plans are no longer suited to the region’s changing conditions. To help secure our future, we need to rethink how we use, protect and share our water resources.

This Catchment Conversation provides a transparent and safe space for people to drop in, ask questions, share local knowledge and help shape future policy directions.

There is no pre‑determined agenda and no decisions will be made - just open discussions shaped by local voices, science and lived experience.

Why these conversations matter

This session is designed to help us understand what matters most to you and the community. It facilitates open, respectful conversations about water, the pressures it faces and its future across the catchment. Through these conversations, we're keen to hear your perspectives on water planning in the region - what’s working, what’s under pressure, and what a good water future looks like.

The session will help identify community values and concerns, influence how issues are framed and how options are explored.

If you are a water-user or interested in how water is managed across the Eastern and Western Mount Lofty Ranges, you will find this a valuable opportunity to share knowledge and learn more about this catchment. We look forward to seeing you there.
