Regenerative Agriculture in the ACT
ACTNRM’s Sustainable Agriculture Program Lead, Jarrod Ruch will present an overview of the multiple programs being managed currently to assist ACT farmers in transitioning towards regenerative agriculture. These programs include outcomes such as landscape rehydration, carbon sequestration through changes to grazing systems and direct seeding of indigenous fodder plants, improvements to the health of farm dams, restoration of eroded gullies, improvements to animal welfare outcomes and reduction of farm chemical use. The team has also been actively promoting the naturalisation of multiple cool season dung beetle species.
ACT Water Security Vulnerability Assessment
This presentation by Dr Baihua Fu, ACT Office of Water, explores how climate change may affect the ACT and region’s potable and non-potable water supply and environmental water in 2050, and highlights the need for adapting to the new norms of diminishing water resources.
