Caveman to Cyborg - Great ideas are getting harder to find!

Join Kiriti Rambathla futurist, technologist, TEDx keynoter and Head of Ops Intelligence at Linkedin for this thought-provoking series on the state of technology, how it has evolved, where it could be headed and what role societies (civilians, governments & academia) can play in shaping it! There will be examples from present day companies (Australia & Global) applying cutting edge research to create the economies of the future.

PART ONE

From the earliest inventions of the agrarian society to the renaissance in Europe, we have seen breakthrough ideas all the way up to the world wars and moon landings. But lately, great ideas have become increasingly hard to find.

There is a major difference between the discovery of the human genome & developing the next iteration of the iPhone. Bringing us to the questions around how we measure our inventions & innovation.

Within innovation, we have two kinds of innovation: Incremental & Radical.

How can we measure the progress we are making in terms of inventions and innovations?

If people from the 1800's could invent the light bulbs and locomotives with limited technology, have we slowed down in the 2000's? Where will the next big breakthrough come from and are we doing enough to spur the next big breakthrough?

The THREE-PART series (9 July, 16 July, 30 July at 5-6PM) will focus on:

This series is must-attend:

  • Anyone looking at innovation within their current industries
  • Startups looking to raise capital
  • Investors or angels looking to invest in new / creative ideas
  • Role of Science & Technology policy in spurring innovation
