Description

Join us to launch the Understanding Coercive Control when Providing Legal Assistance training. This new national training equips all lawyers with the skills to recognise when a client may be experiencing coercive control, engage with them safely and provide support.

Event details:

  • Tuesday, 23 June 2026

  • 2pm to 3pm AEST

  • Zoom

The event will provide an overview of the training and a discussion on the impact that can be achieved through a coordinated, sector-wide response to coercive control.

Women’s Legal Service Victoria and First Nations Advocates Against Family Violence have co-developed this training as part of a consortium partnership with Women’s Legal Service Australia and National Legal Aid. This is a national project funded by the Australian Government.

The event will be hosted on Zoom with auto-generated live captions enabled. Please let us know when registering if you have any additional accessibility requirements.

Please reach out to NLA@nationallegalaid.org.au if you have any questions about the event.
