New Workers Compensation Law Reform 2024 – Where are we now?

Our information session aims to provide insight into the proposed key changes and new provisions Workers Compensation and Injury Management Act 2023 that will impact all businesses in WA.

The new Act has been completely re-written in a way which provides clarity and certainty for stakeholders within the workers compensation system. The Act preserves the fundamental aspects of the scheme and implements some important improvements. It is also the culmination of extensive consultation by WorkCover WA with key stakeholder groups and the Western Australian public.

The Workers Compensation and Injury Management Act 2023 was assented to by the Governor on 24 October 2023 with full implementation including with supporting regulations commencing 1 July 2024.
